Join NCC staff for an Awareness Day on the Alfred-Kelly Nature Reserve! Volunteers will be talking to visitors about the Nature Reserve and NCC’s mission as well as informing visitors what is and is not permitted in the area. Volunteers will also help clean up garbage on site.

Located just 60 km from Montreal, this rocky 605 hectare (1,496 ac.) reserve is nestled in the heart of the Piedmont and Prévost Escarpments of the Laurentians — one of the region’s emblematic natural areas. Balancing conservation and public access, this area offers stunning trail systems up to 15 km long and provides habitat for more than 80% of Quebec’s birds of prey! Other flora and fauna spotted on the property include the rare purple clematis and Holboell’s rockcress, Canada warbler and the endangered butternut tree.
What you will be doing
10:30 AM : Meeting of all volunteers at Prévost Station
11 AM-2 PM: Inform the visitors of the allowed and forbidden uses of the natural area and NCC's mission.
2:30-3:00 PM: Assessment of the day (Gare de Prévost, tea, coffee and snacks will be served)

Participants must be at least 8 years old and be accompanied by an adult.

While we do our best to provide you with the tools you need to participate, please bring the following items if you have them:
- Close-toed footwear
- Long pants
- Long shirt
- Layers of clothing (light sweater and jacket)
- Sun hat
- Raingear
- Hiking boots
- 1 Litre of water in a reusable bottle
- Insect repellent
