This event is organized by the Société de conservation, d’interprétation et de recherche de Berthier et ses îles (SCIRBI) in collaboration with the Société d’ornithologie de Lanaudière. Join us on this ornithological outing targeting the rural birds on the island of Grace in the archipelago of Lake Saint-Pierre.

Ile de Grâce is located in the Lac Saint-Pierre. It hosts rare species such as the Least Bittern, the Bobolink and the Short-eared Owl.

Why you will love itEcological richness, habitat of rare species in Quebec. Opportunity to observe several different habitats and associated avian fauna: silver maple, aspen, agricultural meadows, marshes, swamps and riparian habitats.

Participants are invited to contact Alexandre Nicole of SCIRBI for more information (anicole@scirbi.org). Output is limited to 25 participants depending on the capacity of the barge. The exit is open to all, but priority is given to the members of the Society of Ornithology of Lanaudière, because it helps pay the costs for the barge. $ 5 per person is asked for the crossing. Children must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult.
While we do our best to provide you with the tools you need to participate, please bring the following items if you have them:
- Closed-toe footwear
- Long pants
- Long shirt
- Sun hat
- Raingear
- 1 Litre of water in a reusable bottle
- Lunch
