If you’re interested in carpooling with other volunteers (driving or catching a ride) please click here. Happy travels!

Please email the event contact to join the waiting list.

More Information

About Happy Valley Forest – 17th Sideroad

Happy Valley Forest is one of the largest remaining tracts of upland deciduous forest on the Oak Ridges Moraine. It is located about one hour northwest of Toronto. This 1560-acre (631 hectare) area supports more than 110 breeding birds and is an outstanding example of mature sugar maple and beech upland forests, characteristic of the Moraine.

What you will be doing

You will help complete the construction of two boardwalks. You will help carry materials about 800m to the site over hilly terrain and use power tools to complete the construction. These new boardwalks will connect existing trails in Happy Valley Forest. This is part of our work to build a formalized public trail system that is respectful of neighbouring landowners, protects sensitive areas of the forest and connects people to nature.

Why you will love it

You will be spend the day being active in a large beautiful mature upland deciduous forest. You’ll be helping to build this key trail connection, while also connecting with other volunteers and with nature.
