Infrastructure / Site Cleanup
Join forces with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as we head out for the first ever Conservation Volunteers event at Bunchberry Meadows! Although this much anticipated property is not officially open to the public, we need help clearing the site in preparation for construction of a parking lot and public picnic area. This scenic property will soon be a fantastic natural retreat for everyone to enjoy, however there are a few tasks that need to be done first. If you are interested in learning more about plans for Bunchberry Meadows, click here.
If you’d like to carpool to the event, please click here, http://www.groupcarpool.com/t/n97abo to add your car or join a ride going to the event. There is also a wait list feature if there isn’t a ride there yet that works for you. Happy carpooling!

Having been virtually untouched for 40 years, Bunchberry Meadows yields some of the last old-growth forests remaining in Central Alberta. Jack pines with a girth of over two meters have been discovered on the property, attracting porcupines, long-tailed weasels and wood frog.
This 259 hectare (640 ac.) plot of land is managed between NCC and the Edmonton & Area Land Trust. NCC acquired Bunchberry Meadows with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program. What you will be doing
Volunteers will spend the day helping to clean up the old fencing and corrals located on the property, in order to make way for the construction of site infrastructure. Why you will love it
