About Grand Marais du Bristol (Gatineau)

This 1,104 hectare (2,730 ac.) property is roughly 80 km west of the Town of Gatineau, along the base of the Ottawa river and across from the Town of Arnprior. Made up of river shores, inland marshes, open alvars and mixed forests, this area’s wide habitat range attracts many at-risk species, including the eastern ribbon snake, tricolored bat, Blanding’s turtle and the endangered butternut tree.

What you will be doing

You will help maintain healthy shores to avoid long-term waste accumulation. The activity is also an opportunity to become familiar with the protected natural area that is rich in biodiversity! Who knows, maybe you will want to become an island patroller for NCC on your personal time!

Why you will love it

The Bristol Islands area is a natural haven with rare wildlife and plant species! Come discover them while contributing to the preservation of natural habitats! The scenery is picturesque.
