Clear Creek BioBlitz

Event Details

July 28th, 2018, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Clear Creek, Manitoba
Inventories and Monitoring

Be a citizen scientist for a day! NCC needs your help identifying species on one of our new properties located near Riding Mountain National Park.  Volunteers will help survey the creek that runs through the property for water critters, water quality, as well as for the plants and animals that live around the creek.

Both experts and non-experts are welcome to join us: all that is required is your power of observation. A picnic lunch will be provided for volunteers.

Carpooling: If you’re interested in carpooling to the property with other volunteers, please click here and add your car, or join a car. (There’s also a wait list feature if there’s no car listed yet where you’re traveling from.) Happy travels!

About Clear Creek

Located south of Riding Mountain National Park, the Clear Creek project takes its name from the creek running through it. With high forested ridges and willow-covered lowlands, the property is well suited to large mammals, including bears, elk, wolves, and moose. Part of the Riding Mountain Biosphere Reserve, the Clear Creek property conserves biodiversity beyond the boundaries of the National Park.

NCC acquired Clear Creek with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
