More Information
The Campbell Property consists of 65 hectares (160 ac.) of land, which host an excellent example of the boreal mixed wood forests of the Cooking Lake Moraine. Its trembling aspen and balsam poplar forest surrounds several small wetlands, where species like the horned grebe, wood frog, American beaver and moose can be spotted. Located 10 km southwest from Lindbrook, the area is directly northeast of the Ministik Game Bird Sanctuary and within the UNESCO Beaver Hills Biosphere Reserve.
What you will be doingWherever possible NCC works with landowners to remove any unneeded infrastructure from the landscape to reduce barriers and hazards to wildlife. By taking part in this event, you can give the Campbell property a helping hand by removing a stretch of barbed wire fence.
Why you will love itWe will have Masters Student Jillian Cameron joining us to give a talk about her amphibian work and the use of bioacoustics in monitoring. We also have another special guest who will talk about the Beaver Hills Initiative and the history of the local area. In addition, this property is only 40 minutes from Edmonton!
