Habitat Restoration
Join the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) and NCC for a day of planting trees in the Edenvale Conservation Area along the Nottawasaga River. These trees will provide habitat to birds and wildlife, stabilize the riverbanks and improve the water quality of the river which flows through the Minesing Wetlands by providing shade and reducing erosion.
Carpooling: If you’re interested in carpooling with other volunteers (driving, or catching a ride) please click here and add your car, or join a car. There’s also a wait list feature if there’s no car listed yet where you’re traveling from. Happy travels!

More Information
This conservation area is a popular destination for canoe and kayak enthusiasts. Situated on the banks of the Nottawasaga River, it’s known locally as the “take out” after a canoe trip through the Minesing Wetlands. People arriving by canoe may camp overnight for a small fee.
The Edenvale Conservation Area is under the management of the Township of Springwater and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority. This is not an NCC property (see appropriate links for more details).
What you will be doingParticipants will be planting 300 native trees to help stabilize and naturalize the bank of the Nottawasaga River just upstream from the Minesing Wetlands.
Why you will love itBy the end of the day you’ll be able to see the difference you’ve made as 300 new native trees will stand along the Nottawasaga River bank!
