Inventories and Monitoring
Join us for an evening of bird surveys and activities at NCC’s Jiggens Bluff project, about half an hour south of Virden and Oak Lake. This family-friendly volunteer event is open to all levels of birding experience.
The survey will be held in collaboration with birders who can assist with bird identification, and help other birders to improve their skills and knowledge. Surveys will contribute to our knowledge the shores of Plum Lake and the nearby prairie, which are part of an Important Bird Area. Huge numbers of waterfowl and shorebirds use Plum Lake during migration, and many beautiful grassland birds are found in the prairie.
