More Information

About Golden Ranches Conservation Area (Lindbrook)

This 355 hectare (875 ac.) property, located in the Cooking Lake Moraine just 30 km southeast of Edmonton, is jointly owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy of Canada and its partners. Made up of mature aspen, open grasslands and internationally recognized wetlands, the area attracts a wide range of wildlife, such as Canada warbler, moose, and red fox.

NCC acquired the Golden Ranches with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.

What you will be doing

You will be removing fencing staples and rolling barbed wire to remove a fence line at Golden Ranches. By removing unnecessary fences, wildlife can pass through the property more easily, avoid injuries and avoid separation of juveniles from their moms.

Why you will love it

Aside from getting to listen to the silent thank-yous from the wildlife you will be helping, you will get to taste berry delicious desserts! NCC staff will each prepare a berry dessert. Sample them all and vote to decide which baker will be crowned the Golden Berry Baker at our annual Berry Bake Off!
