The Happy Valley Forest is a special area that is set to become an old-growth forest within the next 50 years. Join us as we augment this beautiful forest by planting even more native trees, shrubs and wildflowers on the Happy Valley Forest’s Barnett Property.

The Happy Valley Forest is one of the largest remaining intact upland deciduous forest on Canada’s Oak Ridges Moraine. Located in King Township, just northwest of the Greater Toronto Area, this 1,560-acre (631-hectare) area supports more than 110 breeding bird species, and is an outstanding example of the mature sugar maple and beech upland forests that are characteristic of the Moraine. The area also holds special cultural significance, given its association with the Toronto Carrying-place, a historic portage and travel route.What you will be doing
You will be helping to plant native tree seedlings on NCC’s Barnett Property.Why you will love it

While we do our best to provide you with the tools you need to participate, please bring the following items if you have them:
- Close-toed footwear
- Long pants
- Long shirt
- Layers of clothing (light sweater and jacket)
- Sun hat
- 1 Litre of water in a reusable bottle
