Help rejuvenate and prepare the Native Wildflower Garden located at the Weston Family Tall Grass Prairie Interpretive Centre for spring. Assist in the clean-up, weeding and the transplanting of native wildflowers and grasses, while learning about the benefits of planting local native species at home!

About Weston Family Tall Grass Prairie Interpretive Centre

The Weston Family Tall Grass Prairie Interpretive Centre is located 80 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg in the heart of the Manitoba Tall Grass Prairie Preserve . Exhibits and hiking trails provide a unique opportunity to experience one of the rarest ecosystems in North America: the tall-grass prairie.

What you will be doing

Help rejuvenate NCC's demonstration garden by weeding, clearing debris and transplanting native species. Afterwards join staff in an optional hike along the Prairie Orchid trail to see some of these plants in their natural habitat!

This is a great chance to satisfy your green thumb all while learning about the unique plants that can be found in the Tall Grass Prairie.

Please Note

Additional event details, including directions and parking instructions, will be provided after registration. Bug spray, and gardening gloves will be provided for those who need them!

People of all fitness levels can participate
Running water and flush toilets
All tools will be provided by NCC
Water and snacks will be provided
