Slash and Savour the Salmonberry

Event Details

July 11th, 2018, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Lohbrunner Woods, British Columbia
Infrastructure / Site Cleanup

NCC needs your help to clear a trail at the Lohbrunner woods. The work will allow us access and remove an abandoned vehicle within the conservation area. As a sweet bonus, volunteers will have an opportunity to harvest the delicious salmonberry before removing it!

There is limited parking at this conservation area so carpooling is encouraged. If you’d like to carpool to the event, please click here, to add your car or join a ride going to the event. There is also a wait list feature if there isn’t a ride there yet that works for you. Happy carpooling.

About Lohbrunner Woods

Lohbrunner Woods is a second-growth maturing forest located on southeastern Vancouver Island, approximately northeast of Victoria in Langford’s Happy Valley. The 25-acre (10-hectare) property encompasses coastal Douglas-fir habitat, rocky bluffs and open meadows that feature arbutus, camas and other native wildflowers. The property is frequented by a variety of birds, including bald eagles and woodpeckers, and it remains a key conservation area in a region largely converted for agriculture. NCC acquired the Lohbrunner Woods with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
