Turtle River Marshes Property Clean Up
October 15th, 2016, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Turtle River Marshes, Manitoba
Infrastructure / Site Cleanup
Join NCC staff in cleaning up garbage along the riverbanks and lakeshore of our Turtle River Marshes property. Located along Dauphin Lake at the mouth of the Turtle River, the property’s extensive marsh complex supports large concentrations of colony nesting birds and waterfowl. Bring along your binoculars, and maybe catch a glimpse of a few birds flying over on their way south.
Carpooling: If you’re interested in carpooling with other volunteers (driving, or catching a ride) please click here https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/2ior85 and add your car, or join a car. There’s also a wait list feature if there’s no car listed yet where you’re traveling from. Happy travels!
The Turtle River Marshes project is located at the mouth of the Turtle River where it enters Dauphin Lake. The property supports a substantial marsh system, which provides important breeding, foraging, and staging habitat for waterfowl and colony nesting birds.
NCC acquired Turtle River Marshes with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada. What you will be doing
