This 193 hectare (478 ac.) property is located 35 km north west of Thorsby, 10 km south west of Genesee lake, and is characterized by mixed wood boreal forests, wetlands, riparian zones and coniferous trees. These aspen, white spruce, paper birch forests cover the majority of the area and is in very healthy condition, providing habitat for species such as the golden crowned kinglet, western toad and even a resident herd of elk. Due to its close proximity to other conservation sites, the Busenius project is a key piece of a larger habitat connectivity puzzle.
