This 43 hectare (109 ac.) property is based just 20 km northeast of Napanee, made up of meadows, shrublands, exposed limestone, wetlands and woodlands. This diverse landscape provides valuable habitat for species like the eastern newt, sandhill crane, white-tailed deer, milksnake and the endangered monarch butterfly. The area also features small pockets of rare plants, and even a rare fossil or two!
NCC acquired Camden East with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
