Campbell River Estuary (Campbell River)

In the heart of Campbell River, this 21 hectare (52 ac.) property was once an industrialized logging site; today, thriving salt marshes, temperate forests and a clean, freshwater river can be found here. The area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the great blue heron, all five salmon species (Chinook, coho, sockeye, chum and pink) and the endangered marbled murrelet. Encompassing the Baikie Island Nature Reserve and the Ocean Blue conservation area, this restoration project is the result of NCC and its partners.
