Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, Cochrane

Located between Calgary and Cochrane south of Highway 1A lies 3,246 acres of public protected land. In 2006 the Harvie family sold this land to the Government of Alberta for less than market value with the intentions of conserving the land and protecting it from development. In 2008 the land was designated as a provincial park.

The Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation (GRPF) has worked to construct a trail network of nearly 30 km, creating an ideal space for recreation. The GRPF also leads research, education, and stewardship initiatives at the park.
