Secured in 2013, this 45 hectare (113 ac.) property is nestled along the north western shore of Pine Lake, roughly 30 km south east of Red Deer. Covered in wetlands, lakefront beaches, grasslands and aspen-balsam-poplar forests, the area provides habitat to a diversity of wildlife, including yellow-bellied sapsucker, mule deer, coyote and moose. Acting as breeding and staging grounds for migrating waterfowl, this high-priority conservation project connects with surrounding conserved lands to form a larger network of protected habitats.
