Haynes property (Pine Lake)

This 64 hectare (159 ac.) property is part of a 549 hectare (1,357 ac.) network of conservation projects within the Pine Lake Moraine, just southeast of Red Deer. In conjunction with other lands managed by partner organizations Ducks Unlimited Canada and Alberta Conservation Association, the area is able to conserve aspen forests, native grasslands, and extensive wetlands for species such as the rusty blackbird, American badger and northern leopard frog.

NCC acquired the Haynes property with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
