Hicks Property, (Hastings Lake)

The Hicks property contributes 149 acres (60 ha.) of native aspen/poplar forest to a network of parks and private conservation projects within the region, just 10 km south of Hastings Lake. Featuring rolling hills and scattered wetlands, the area hosts an abundance of wildlife, including elk, American beaver and wood frog. Hicks also provides the public with a convenient trail system to get out and enjoy nature in a low-impact way.

NCC acquired the Hicks  property with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
