Mercier property

Secured at the end of 2010, this 150 acre conservation property is a joint partnership between the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC). The Mercier property is situated within the Buffalo Lake Moraine, which is one of the landscapes recognized under the North American Waterfowl Management Plan as an important staging and breeding area for migratory waterfowl and shorebirds. It is located within 7 – 10 km of a large 2514 acre block of NCC land along the eastern side of Buffalo Lake.

The Mercier property lies within the Central Parkland Subregion of the Parkland Natural Region, and consists of undulating knob and kettle topography.
