Oxley (Willow Creek)

Located in the Willow Creek municipal district, Oxley is based in one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world: grasslands. This fragile landscape is important to a variety of wildlife, including elk, cougars, wolves and prairie falcon. At 917 acres (371 ha.), and formerly part of an 80,000 hectare (nearly 200,000 ac.) property, the Oxley complex is one of the oldest working ranches in Alberta.

NCC acquired the Oxley complex with the assistance of the Government of Canada’s  Natural Areas Conservation Program (NACP), a unique public-private partnership to accelerate the pace of land conservation across southern Canada.
