Whitemouth River Watershed Natural Area

Located in southeastern Manitoba, this unique landscape is the meeting place of the boreal coniferous forest, the eastern Superior mixed forest and the western prairie. This natural area contains vast peatlands and other wetlands, riparian forests and mixed deciduous and coniferous forests. It is a hotspot for species diversity in Manitoba, and it supports a number of plant and animals that are rare or uncommon, such as the carmine shiner and snapping turtle.
